The music band “γάβ” will be performing at the 11th Cyprus Rialto World Music Festival on Sunday 17th of July. The newly formed 5-member band has already performed in several concerts all over Cyprus and in Greece. 

Having experiment with acoustic set, the band has come up with an electric sonic identity that mainly focus to a kind of music called “skyladiko”, the specific kind of music represents a large subculture in the 80s and 90s in Greece. While preserving the original structure of the skyladiko* music genre, they add a sound quality to their own compositions that juggles between surf/ska/reggae.

But let us introduce the newly formed 5-member γάβ the band: a jazz bassist - owner of a traditional Cypriot coffee shop, a Polish trumpeter with a background in Drama Studies, a guitarist specialising in Social Anthropology of Sound, a percussionist who has been playing in skyladika stages (*dog clubs) across Greece and Cyprus since his teenage years, as well as an upcoming singer marking a stunning career success in night clubs across Limassol, establish a new music genre: “psychoskyladiko”.
