3rd Cyprus Jazz & World Music Showcase

In the third edition of the Jazz and World Music Showcase, with the participation of 10 groups and approximately 40 musicians, in addition to the basic program to be held on the 18 and 19 November at the Rialto Theatre, the showcase will be accompanied by a series of parallel events.

Specifically a Jam Session by musicians participate at the Cyprus Jazz & World Music Showcase will take place, on Thursday, November 17 at Sousami, 20:30 in a relaxed atmosphere, a first introductory meeting of musicians, organizers and guests.

A session will be given by the Showcase guests on Saturday, November 19th from 11:00 am until 1.30 pm, at the Rialto Theatre cafeteria, under the title “Unlocking advancement opportunities for jazz & world music in local and international context”. More specifically the rapporteurs where asked to make a short presentation of their organizations, with particular reference to actions falling within the above framework.

The presentations will have more the character of a networking meeting between the guests and the audience, which is expected to include both musicians and professionals of the local music scene (representatives of cultural institutions, festival organizers, etc.).

Presentations will be given by Dubi Lenz, Artistic Director of «The Red Sea Jazz Festival» of Israel, Raisa Siivola, representative of the Finnish Jazz Federation and Tonis Tuur, member of the Estonia Jazz Union. An Officer of the Creative Europe Desk will give a Short presentation.

During the three-days from the 17 - 19 November the Cypriot musicians will have the opportunity through speed meetings with all the guests of the Showcase to discuss, under a fruitful exchange of views and experiences.
