Voor Film: From the perspectives of a dozen diverse viewers, this 12-minute documentary short explores the peculiar ritual of watching film. How is the medium experienced by people with sensory impairments, strong religious beliefs or lovesickness? A story about moving images and their audience.

Production: Bart Jansen

Over: Over presents a crime scene. During the course of 9 wide shots, we watch an intriguing story unfold. What's happened in this quiet neighbourhood? A murder, hit-and-run, an accident? The reality is profound, and deeply unexpected.

Direction / Screenplay / Production: Jörn Threlfall
Cast:  Malcolm Davies

The Seed: Steve and Karim are two 17-year-old young men from the street. While on a petty crime spree, they are about to go on an adventure that will eclipse them all. One evening, they commit one crime too many, accidentally causing a woman’s death.

Dissonance: Who owns reality? Who defines where fantasy begins? A genius musician lives a lonely life in a surreal, floating world. He plays the piano every day in a gigantic concert hall, but there is nobody to listen. One day, his animated world collapses and reality breaks out. He misses his daughter and wants to visit her, but her mother doesn‘t allow it. The film seamlessly transforms from an animation into a live action drama, reflecting the journey from the psychotic mind of a poor street musician into the real world. He only has one wish: To play for his daughter that he is not allowed to visit any more.

Direction / Screenplay / Production: Till Nowak
Cinematography: Ivan Robles Mendoza
Editing: Till Nowak, Philipp Hahn
Music: Olaf Taranczewski, Frank Zerban

Cast: Roland Schupp, Hannah Heine, Nina Petri, Klaus Zehrfeld, Mirko Thiele

Under the Robes: Monsignor Isidore gives a visit to an isolated convent in order to announce its closing down. During the visit, he steps on a land mine. Panic is installed and faith becomes questionable.

Direction / Screenplay / Editing: Michel Zarazir
Cinematography: Karim Ghorayeb
Music / Sound: Simon Souaid
Cast: Manuel Daher, Yvonne Nakad, Lucienne Zarazir, Mona Kheir, Emilie Sahyouni, Stéphanie Atala, Majd Hitti, Salwa El Haiby

Semele: Semele highlights the delicate relationship of a daughter and her long absent father, as an unsigned school note becomes the excuse for young Semele to visit him at work and try to rediscover their lost bond. Although her father Aris, at first does not want Semele around, as the day goes by they share precious moments that they will both treasure for life. The film is an exploration which shifts beyond the parent-child relationship, as it sets out to further question any relationship of love between two people. There is an underlying understanding between the two characters, as well as certain feelings and behaviours that are universally human. Semele demonstrates how fragile and vulnerable human relationships are and how important it is to accept oneself in order to take the leap forward.

Mayday Relay: When the German sailor Max and his daughter Emily receive a mayday-call on the Mediterranean Sea, they act immediately. They change the course of their little sailing-boat and try to involve other ships. But then they understand, that there are over hundred people on board and the damaged boat is only forty-foot long.

Editing: David Kuruc
