More than 60 short films from Cyprus and the world will compete this year for the grand awards of the 6th International Short Film Festival of Cyprus, which will take place from the 15th to the 21st October 2016, at the Rialto Theatre, in Limassol.

Moriom: Summer 2014. Rural Bangladesh. “I came from Heaven. I came to destroy all bad things in the world. I'm a police officer. I'm a flower angel. I got a job at the police station. I will punish them. I will put them in jail.” The story of a girl and the tragedy that changed her life.

Milky way is our galaxy: 35-year-old Hans is lost in his own world. At work, people are being laid off and Hans is determined to pass the English language test at work, one way or another. When you are fully focused on your problems, how well do you see the world that surrounds you?

La Voce / Voiceless: Edgar works in a pig slaughterhouse. He loves the opera and he loves Ginette, the stripper of his dreams. Edgar is about to ask her to marry him when he surprises her bedding her boss. In shock, he loses his voice and unfortunately finds himself with the voice of a pig.

8 Days of Parlor: 8 Days of Parlor observes the work of academic sculptor Leonidas Spanos, based in Cyprus, where a Parlor guitar is being made over a period of 8 days. The pace of the film focuses on the art of guitar-making and the importance for the material to justify its own existence.

Movements Arising from Different Relationships: This is the second film in the series, following the previous work, Between Regularity and Irregularity. As with the previous film, it continues to focus on a phenomenon that occurs in the space between regularity and irregularity, also utilising the different movements caused by different relationships between minute units.

The Miracle: Is life as we know it a miracle? Every day, the functioning of a society is so complex that it is surprising that it does not collapse. The miracle is a short film of personal thoughts on the near future across the rooftops of Shanghai. The text is freely inspired by the book Feasible utopias, written by the architect and author Yona Friedman.
