More than 60 short films from Cyprus and the world will compete this year for the grand awards of the 6th International Short Film Festival of Cyprus, which will take place from the 15th to the 21st October 2016, at the Rialto Theatre, in Limassol.

Uncanny Valley:  Like the flicker of silent films or the delay of memory recall, Paul Wenninger’s Uncanny Valley unravels its story of wartime trauma through the camaraderie of two lone soldiers fighting their way out of the trenches of World War I.

Gazlan: Hatzil the Gazlan (ice cream car driver) gets lodged with his ice cream car in the middle of the desert. John, a Sudanese refugee, arrives to the place; he is tired and thirsty after running away from the Israeli border. The meeting between the two, leads them to a short relationship that, despite being based on lack of trust, will abate their loneliness.

Selfied: Kim Kardashian wannabe Anna Banana documents her banal struggles as the self-proclaimed “Selfie Queen” in order to get her own reality TV series. When a 16-year-old Tara “Selfie Princess” Tardansky starts cyber bullying Anna, she must go to greater extremes to get the validation that she so desperately needs. A dark, satirical look at cultural narcissism, isolation and violence in the age of social media.

Die Badewanne / The Bathtub: The brothers, Georg, Alexander and Niklas, are preparing an original present for their mother. But the idea to re-enact an old bathtub picture from their childhood is way too stupid for the oldest one. Little by little they bare all, and the three brothers remain who have grown apart in the meanwhile.
