Frankenstein - NT Live

The performance, which Rialto Theatre introduced in 2012 the National Theatre Live screenings in Cyprus, “Frankenstein” will be screen again in the framework of The Encore Series, giving to the friends of the theatre a second chance to enjoy it.

The play is the theatrical piece by Nick Dear, based on Mary Shelley’s novel “Frankenstein”. Critics and spectators have praised it as one of the most amazing spectacles of recent years, and an immense success.

Oscar award-winner, Danny Boyle (127 Hours, Slumdog Millionaire) director of London Olympic Games 2012, returns to theatre, directing amongst others the excellent actor Benedict Cumberbatch.

The award-winning Benedict Cumberbatch is one of the most brilliant British actors of the new generation. He was nominated for the first Best Actor Oscar for his performance in the film The imitation game and his known as Sherlock Holmes in Sherlock BBC series, but also in the interpretation of Hamlet in last year's production of the National Theatre.

Synopsis: Monstrous, yet carrying the innocence of a child, the bewildered creature, Frankenstein, is exiled in an inhospitable universe by his creator who is driven by horror. This antisocial being is treated ruthlessly, and becomes desperate and revengeful. He decides to track down his creator and to strike a scary deal.
