More than 60 short films from Cyprus and the world will compete this year for the grand awards of the 6th International Short Film Festival of Cyprus, which will take place from the 15th to the 21st October 2016, at the Rialto Theatre, in Limassol.  

Like every year, the Festival selects and invites world renowned film professionals to be part of the international jury, who will decide upon the Festival awards.   

This year, the President of the Jury  is acclaimed cinematographer from Greece and President of the Thessaloniki Film Festival, Yiorgos Arvanitis. Arvanitis was Theo Angelopoulos's main collaborator in many of his big hits, such as,   Reconstruction and Eternity and a Day, while, among other awards, he has won Best Cinematography, 9 times at Thessaloniki Film Festival. Throughout his career, he has worked with world famous directors such as, Tomas Clay, Frederick Wiseman, Radu  Mihaileanu, Marco Fererri, Marco Bellochio, Volker Schlöndorff, Jules Dassin, Michael Cacoyannis,  Dardenne brothers, Jean-Pierre Ameris, Catherine Breillat. He has been the cinematographer of 111 feature films (both Greek and international productions). Arvanitis will also be delivering a masterclass on his work, on Sunday 16/10 from 6p.m. until 8p.m. at the Rialto Theatre (on stage). The other four professionals on the Jury Panel are:
Jukka-Pekka Laakso, Festival Director of Tampere Film Festival (Finland). Tampere is a FIAPF (International Federation of Film Producers Association)  accredited festival and ranks among the best short film festivals in Europe, together with Oberhausen and Clermont-Ferrand.

Nicolas Khabbaz, Producer - Director, director of the Division of Audio Visual Arts at Notre Dame University - Lebanon (NDU) and artistic director of NDU International Short Film Festival.

Dr. Bojidar Manov, Bulgarian Film critic and Journalist (Pressa daily, Εθνική Βουλγαρική Ραδιοφωνία, περιοδικό Kino κλπ.). He was the Dean of the Cinema Faculty at the National Academy for Theatre and Film Arts, Sofia, and is currently a lecturer in the New Bulgarian University. He is also a member of FIPRESCI (International Federation of Film Critics)

Tonia Mishiali, Cypriot Director - Producer and Member of the Artistic Committee of Cyprus Film Days International Festival. The ISFFC Festival traditionally invites on the Jury Panel an ISFFC winner from Cyprus. Tonia Mishiali won Best National Film in 2014, with Lullaby of the Butterfly.

Apart from the two main competition sections of the Festival, national and international, the Festival also showcases film tributes, masterclasses and parallel events which will be announced shortly on the official website, www.isffc.com.cy
