The piece explores the moment of emerging new species by crossbreeding, unlike ordinary collaboration between di erent cultures. Baraba Okuyama, a Butoh dancer (former member of Dairakudakan), Kotaro Mizushima, a contemporary dancer, and Motoko Hirayama show a fantasy in which an organic body generates its acceptance and repulsion by hybridization with the Basque rhythmical sound by Oreka TX and the melodious Ainu song by Emi Toko and Fukiko Goukon. This project was part of the Donostia - San Sebastian European Capital of Culture 2016 programme, and is being reworked by choreographer Motoko Hirayama especially for Pafos2017.

Motoko Hirayama started out as a dancer renowned for controlling both tranquillity and upli . In 2006, Motoko’s solo piece of classical ballet Revelation was produced at Bolshoi Ballet. She is the 2008 recipient of the Asahi Performing Arts Award for Life Casting and won both The Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology’s Art Encouragement Prize for New Artists and the Takaya Eguchi Award for The Rite of Spring in 2009. Motoko leads the Japanese dance scene, continues to seek new ground without losing her adventurous, pioneering and open-minded spirit.
