More than 60 short films from Cyprus and the world will compete this year for the grand awards of the 6th International Short Film Festival of Cyprus, which will take place from the 15th to the 21st October 2016, at the Rialto Theatre, in Limassol.

Another Kind of Girl: 17-year-old Khaldiya meditates on how the refugee camp has opened up new horizons and given her a sense of courage that she lacked in Syria.

Sociopaths: A girl encounters an android on the street. She finds something strange about the experience and decides to follow the android to give it a "message".

Mad Dogs: Three broke buddies have fun on their usual stroll at the outskirts of a small town. As they tease each other about girls, money and power, they find an abandoned helpless dog. They have some fun with it. Ιn a split second, things get out of hand and the three boys turn against each other. Mad Dogs is a film about power in a single 12-minute shot in rural Greece.

Fuckkkyouuu: With the ability to travel in time, a lonely girl finds love and comfort by connecting with her past self. Eventually faced with rejection she struggles with her identity and gender, and as time folds onto itself only one of them can remain.

Amélia & Duarte: In this story we are guided through the relationship of Amélia and Duarte, two people that felt out of love and are trying to cope with the feelings that come after a relationship has ended. Their relationship has the shape of an archive box and their contents illustrate the story of their breakup. We are guided through their separation as they try to divide, destroy and erase the memories of each other. The film is made in pixilation and stop-motion and has a Technicolor feel of the 50’s, portraying not only the surrealism of their actions, but also providing an ironic chromatic impression about the end of love.

A Well Spent Afternoon: After failing yet another job interview, the father is spending an afternoon with his 7-year-old son. They happen to find a wallet full of money, and father teaches his son the right thing to do.

Haftasonu / Weekend: Following his father’s death, Hasan returns to Cyprus after many years. As he spends time in his childhood village with his grieving mother and childhood girlfriend, the inner struggle with his identity and the challenge of being in a traditionalist community resurfaces. The pressure to attend the funeral pushes Hasan to confront his past and to search for reconciliation, not only with his family and home but also with himself.
