Exploring the vast horizons of Nikos Gatsos’ lyrics, serving both as a frontier and a refuge for the human soul, this concert is dedicated to a poet who opted to bring poetry to life through song.

Nikos Gatsos was a songwriter, author, and translator — an authentic and masterful poet who, in his own unique way, elevated the Greek laïko song to new artistic heights. Through his unparalleled poetic genius and lyrical craftsmanship, he wrote extraordinary works for some of the greatest composers of our times.

Babis Stokas, Myrto Vassiliou and Anna Chrysanthou, alongside Rythmos Orchestra, will perform a repertoire of songs including those written by Nikos Gatsos and composed by some of the most celebrated Greek musical minds, such as Manos Hadjidakis, Mikis Theodorakis, Stavros Xarhakos, Dimos Moutsis, Loukianos Kilaidonis, Christodoulos Halaris, as well as composer Nikos Hiotoglou who recently released I Pagomeni Theatrina, setting Gatsos’ namesake collection to music.

The ensemble promises a celebratory concert as the grand poet’s lyrics will resonate with audiences of all ages, evoking memories for the seniors and inspiring the younger generation.
