Smaragda - I Got Thick Skin and I Can't Jump

With environmental sensitivities, failed relationships, and a stagnant career, middle-aged Smaragda becomes a children’s entertainer at a tourist resort and embraces social media, facing both fame and backlash as she embarks on a journey of self-discovery.

Emilios Avraam is a film director with an editing and visual effects background, based in Cyprus. His debut feature film Smaragda - I got thick skin and I can’t jump had its world premiere in the First Feature Competition at PÖFF | Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival 2024, funded by Creative Europe MEDIA and the Cyprus Deputy Ministry of Culture. He is a First Films First, Torino Film Lab, Midpoint Institute, Mediterranean Film Institute and Talents Sarajevo alumnus. He wrote and directed the award-winning short films Rearrangement (2018) and Bad Habits (2016). He has worked as an editor and visual effects artist on acclaimed film projects, both abroad and in his home country, and has also created numerous music videos. He is currently in development of his sophomore feature film, Boys of Summer.
