Vid, seen by his son Dule as the greatest hero, struggles with the looming expansion of an ore mine threatening their home. While Vid hides his worries, Dule remains unaware of the mine’s impact, focusing instead on restoring his father’s happiness. His heartfelt mission leads to imaginative architectural fixes and even an attempt to negotiate with God. As the family faces inevitable displacement, Vid, failing against the corporate giant, finds solace in his son’s innocence, rediscovering hope and strength through a child’s unshaken optimism.

David Jovanović (b. 1996) graduated in Film and TV Directing from FDA, Belgrade. To fund his first feature film, Sun Never Again, he sold sustainable ecosystems in jars and designed retro socks. In a marketing move, he orchestrated a stunt claiming a road would replace a park in Belgrade, gaining national attention to promote Where the Road Leads, a feature film he produced. This film, directed by Nina Ognjanović, won the Audience Award and a Grand Jury Honourable Mention at Slamdance 2023, becoming the most-awarded Serbian film of 2023. David enjoys cooking more than watching films, and is currently contemplating a road trip film about the love between an alien and a human. He is the founder of Pointless Films, an independent film production company from Serbia.
