Synopsis
A successful ad executive, a retiring coach, and a rising athlete find their lives unexpectedly intertwined during a major sporting event, discovering that humour, courage, and perspective can turn even life’s toughest battles into victories.
Biography
Daniel Pánek is a Czech filmmaker, director, screenwriter and producer known for his emotionally engaging, family-oriented storytelling. He gained early recognition with the independent thriller Taxi 121 (2016), inspired by real events. In 2019, he directed the web series Behind the Curtain, starring Hynek Čermák, expanding his work into digital platforms. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Pánek co-founded the Prague-based production company Visual Riders, developing original films and commercial projects. His second feature film, Children of Nagano (2023), a family sports comedy inspired by the legacy of Czech Olympic ice hockey, received international festival recognition. He subsequently directed Invincibles (2025), inspired by the World Para Ice Hockey Championships. A self-taught filmmaker, Pánek also writes screenplays and books.
