Margarita Zorbala, the acclaimed Greek singer with a remarkable, decades-long career marked by a repertoire of songs written by outstanding composers, personally selected Maria Papageorgiou, a leading singer, musician, and artist of the younger generation, to co-create and present their musical vision on women's voices and female composition.

By transcending generational divides, the two singers reveal that they possess a shared artistic vision and aesthetic, alongside a mutual admiration for prominent women in creation.

The core intent behind selecting the repertoire was not to encompass (chronologically or stylistically) the entire spectrum of female musical creation—which would be impossible given its richness—but rather to convey their own truths through common references, honouring the women who have shaped us and those who are yet to flourish.

Two unique voices, two captivating personalities, and a carefully selected repertoire deliver to the audience a distinctive aesthetic result in a one-of-a-kind artistic encounter.

The concert "Women in Creation" featuring Margarita Zorbala and Maria Papageorgiou was first presented at the EPTAPYRGIO Festival 2024, organised by the Cultural Centre of Central Macedonia, which this year was dedicated to Women.
