Captive Spirits

On 9 of February 2025, in Rialto as part of the VIII international theater festival “Five Evenings in Cyprus”, the winner of the “Seagull” award, winner of the “Golden Mask” meet the comedy “Captive Spirits”.

ANOTHER THEATER (Moscow, Russia) presents a play by brothers Presnyakov, directed by Vladimir Ageev. The main role is played by the leading actor of the Roman Viktyuk Theater, Honored Artist of Russia Dmitry Bozin.

Beginning of the XX century. Shakhmatovo estate near Moscow. The aspiring poet Alexander Blok is already known for his poems about the “Beautiful Lady”. But whether it exists in nature or is just the fruit of his wild imagination remains to be found out by another symbolist poet, Andrei Bely.

The argument quickly escalates into a duel. How will this witty parody end and will the heroes find a way out of the love triangle?

An intoxicating cocktail of humor, literary anecdote and leapfrog images of real-life characters.

Начало ХХ века. Подмосковная усадьба Шахматово. Начинающий поэт Александр Блок уже известен своими стихами о Прекрасной Даме. А вот существует она в природе или только плод его бурной фантазии предстоит выяснить другому поэту-символисту, Андрею Белому. Спор быстро перерастает в дуэль. Чем закончится эта остроумная пародия и найдут ли герои выход из любовного треугольника?
