Synopsis
Eleni, a scorned painter in Cyprus in 1882, attempts to resurrect her dead children, but instead awakens the Kalikantzari creatures of Cypriot folklore. Now she must find a way to overcome her grief and anger and dispel the curse that has befallen her village.
Biography
Minos Papas is an award-winning director, cinematographer and producer based in Los Angeles. He grew up on film sets, in casting rooms, and in projection booths. His work has screened internationally, with Take Me Home (producer, 2nd Unit DP) selected for Sundance and the Berlinale, and Motherwitch (writer/director, producer) premiering at the International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR). His films have also been selected at SXSW and Tribeca and have received multiple New York Emmy Awards. A member of the Directors Guild of Cyprus, his work investigates the human condition, trauma, and mythology. He is into Tarkovsky, Kubrick, football, death metal and cats.
