Synopsis
When her teenage son is suspended from school after a troubling outburst during his senior year, Nadia is determined to help him, convincing herself he just needs guidance. But as Basil’s mental state slowly unravels, she ignores the warning signs, sinking deeper into denial as disaster approaches.
Biography
Zain Duraie is a Jordanian writer and director, known for her acclaimed short film Give Up the Ghost, which screened in the Orizzonti Shorts Competition at the Venice Film Festival in 2019. The film won several awards, including Best Arab Short Film at the El Gouna Film Festival and the Vimeo Staff Pick Award at the Palm Springs International ShortFest. In 2024, Duraie was selected to participate in Berlinale Talents and was named ScreenDaily’s Arab Star of Tomorrow.
