15-year-old Ahmet grows up in the mountains of Macedonia, where he tends his father’s sheep while also caring for his little brother. But what he really dreams of is music. Trapped between the expectations of those around him and his desire to see the world, will Ahmet ever manage to follow his own path?

Georgi M. Unkovski is an award-winning Macedonian writer and director whose work has been presented at over 200 international film festivals, as well as on HBO and MTV. Born in 1988 in New York, he graduated from the Rochester Institute of Technology – Eastman School of Photography, specialising in Fine Arts. Shortly after graduating, he moved to the Czech Republic to pursue filmmaking, enrolling in a postgraduate programme at FAMU in Prague. He is now based in Skopje, working as a director at the advertising agency FUTURA 2/2 and at the production company Cinema Futura. A Sundance alumnus, his short film Sticker has won over 50 international awards. DJ Ahmet is his debut feature film.
