Dentro Theatro and Theatriki Stegi present, for the first time in Cyprus, the award-winning play The Father, which received the Molière Award in 2014 and went on to captivate audiences and critics worldwide. Written by Florian Zeller and directed by Yiannis Leontaris, the production stars Stavros Louras in the leading role. What happens when memory becomes a labyrinth?

The Father is not simply a story about dementia. It is a powerful journey into the inner landscape of a mind gradually losing its points of reference. A deeply existential experience, the play speaks to life itself, to memory as the vessel of our personal history, and to the fear of losing one’s sense of self.

Stavros Louras plays the lead, undertaking the demanding task of portraying a father who watches reality disintegrate, piece by piece, as dementia infiltrates, quietly, yet relentlessly, his daily life. Faces become confused, times and places overlap, and certainty collapses. The audience does not merely observe this process; instead, they live through the disorientation, absurdity, and doubt.
