The Whales of August by David Berry brings together on stage five acclaimed Cypriot actors: Despina Mpempedeli, Annita Santorineou, Stelios Kafkarides, Lenia Sorokou and Neofytos Neofytou, all star in an extraordinary play that pays tribute to life and love, lasting eternally and defeating time.

Human relationships are at the forefront of Berry’s play, portraying characters that are forced to deal with the passing of time and to find out their own form of resistance. Through memories, fear, concerns, hope and the characters’ dreams, the play unravels a tender story that questions the inevitable fate of man and the value of life regardless of the stage of the human life cycle.
