Thessaloniki, 1943, during the German Occupation. Two childless couples, Mimis and Christina, and Vaggelis and Lela, are crammed together in an old, requisitioned café-patisserie that has been turned into a makeshift home. Longing for a baby, they struggle to survive amid hunger, fear and the hardships of the time. Their balance is disrupted when a Jewish man, who has escaped from Auschwitz, invades their home looking for a place to hide. Drama and comedy coexist in this compelling play, highlighting the power of human solidarity and reminding us that hope never fades and that love always finds a way to take root in people’s hearts, bringing light to our darkest moments.
